Our Privacy Policy
This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure or Personally Identifiable Information (PII) we receive from users of the Site. The “Site” refers to the LOT Planner business headed by Sa-kiera Hudson (and also will be referred to as, “LOT Planner”, “we”, us”, or “our”.
As a psychologist, I got extremely excited to understand that a privacy policy is essentially a consent document for all of those interested in purchasing a planner from me.
To make it easier to understand, I have a series of questions one could ask me to understand how I collect, use, and protect PII given to me by my customers. Please read this information carefully, as by using our Site you are agreeing to how we are collecting and using your information in accordance with this policy.
What is personally identifiable information, or PII, and what do we collect?
“Personally identifiable information” is information that can, on its own or in conjunction with other information, be used to identify, locate, or contact a person in isolation or in context. For example, names and email addresses are piece of information that alone, or together, can identify a person. When you order something from our site, sign up for our newsletter, or otherwise engage with our website you maybe be asked to enter in your name, email address, mailing address, organization, phone number, or other details to help us customize your experience and provide service.
When do we collect information?
We collect information when you enter it into the site such as completing an order or signing up for our newsletter. We also may collect log data, which is information that your browser sends whenever you visit our Site This information can include information such as your computer's Internet Protocol ("IP") address, browser type, browser version, the pages of our Site that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, and other statistics. In the future, we may use third party services like Google Analytics to make sense of this information. Finally, we may collect cookies from your visit to our website. Cookies are files with small amount of data, which may include an anonymous unique identifier. Cookies are sent to your browser from a web site and stored on your computer's hard drive. Like many sites, we use "cookies" to collect information. Cookies help keep items you selected in your cart when you visit again in the future, for example. You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, if you do not accept cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of our Site.
How do we use the information we collect?
We use your information to provide service in a fast and efficient manner. We also use your information to send emails periodically about your order, about other services we have, and/or information on how to use our products. We will not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your PPI to outside parties without advance notice. There are two exception to this: one, if these other parties are assisting us in operating our website, conducting our business, or otherwise providing a service to you. However, these outside parties must agree to keep your information confidential. The other exception is if we are required by law to release the information.
How will you protect my information?
Only a small number of people have access to your information and are required to keep the information confidential. We house our website on Squarespace and fully utilize their security measures to protect the data users enter, including but not limited to Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology and HTTP Strict Transport Security which encrypts the content served during sessions and only allows Squarespace customer websites to be accessed via HTTPS. Is this Privacy Policy subject to change?
This Privacy Policy is effective as of August 25th, 2020 and will remain in effect except with respect to any changes in its provisions in the future, which will be in effect immediately after being posted on this page. We reserve the right to update or change our Privacy Policy at any time and you should check this Privacy Policy periodically. Your continued use of the Service after we post any modifications to the Privacy Policy on this page will constitute your acknowledgment of the modifications and your consent to abide and be bound by the modified Privacy Policy. If we make any material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will notify you either through the email address you have provided us, or by placing a prominent notice on our website.
